Since the release of “Third World Mami”, Latin singer-songwriter Malucci has perked up ears and turned heads, skyrocketing in popularity across the world. Born Martha Ledesma Carnero on August 5, `994 in Lima, Peru, she started listening to hip hop, R&B and reggaeton amongst other urban genres since a very young age. While this music wasn’t typical of the environment she grew up in, she was naturally attracted to it, and used the resources around her to explore these genres and draw inspiration from them, infusing them into a unique sound that sets her apart from other urban performers.
Malucci’s growth since the beginning of her career in 2018 has been astounding, and has had all to do with the singer’s audacity and brilliance in and outside of the studio, in front and behind the camera. The singer’s uniqueness and originality stems from her involvement in the creative process of her music and music videos, as well as her confidence in her lyricism. She explained that she writes the lyrics for all of her music, because she prefers to tell a story that resonates with he, rather than to sing songs that don’t mean anything to her. She publishes her music under her own label, Third World Gang, and works in close collaboration with InnerCat Music Group on all releases. Malucci has seen an incredible growth in social media presence in the last few months, as her song “No Es Suyo” and “Lero Lero” picked up and went viral on TikTok and YouTube, the former charting months after its release.
Her latest project is “Jugosa”, a song well on its way to become her most successful release as of now. Feisty, fun and utterly contagious, “Jugosa” is so good at that it does that it’s going to have the entire world putting it on loop. The song, which so perfectly characterizes the Peruvian singer, will pick up the momentum from “Third World Mami’ and run with it, further establishing her as one of the rising icons in the Latin market.
